The carpenter made a range of furniture for the dwelling house, including dressers, tables, settle-beds, chairs and other small household items. He also fashioned doors and windows and carried out the structural woodwork in buildings.

The harness-maker made and repaired the harnesses used for both horses and donkeys. The skill of the harness-maker almost disappeared due to the arrival of motorised transport. However, it has survive due to a rise in the popularity of horse riding as a leisure-time activity.
